Random…

ello..

i’m back.

Well, back from a stuffed friday, from a tweeny part of hokkaido fair at Tampines Mall and watching transformers.

Stuffed? you ask…

Looking around, and walking around the crowded mini booths, we saw the hairy crab, most prob a huge yummy one, costly $400+ (yeah, SGD. so guess in YEN it’s much higher). a few more secs of walking and we pass by a tasty smelling crispy flakey crunchy CROQUETTE stall.

There goes the 5…to a POTATO croquette, not to mention, a PUMPKIN croquette. The croquette waS biscuit-y, and the filling just melts in your mouth. It like having a mashed steamed pumpkin with loads of flakes.:)

another round the corner and the ramen stall is spotted. We are huge fans of RAMEN. but for some reason, we didnt try to queue, just yet. Maybe cos the queue was too long. :( off to the next booth. and the next.

So on we went, till we reached the front, with this huge poster of the MANJU CAKE.

And me, being the jap flour cake person that i am, just had to queue up to buy it.
precious 15min just for 4 manju cakes—-2 red bean and 2 custard. Again, the melt in the mouth filling. Sweet buttery heaven.

thereafter TRANSFORMERS: revenge of the fallen, we were back, this time at the RAMEN stall, and we couldnt decide.

A bowl costs 16SGD.

YES/ NO/YES/NO….

in the end, i gave up.

rather save the 16, and eat something else.

okay, my stomach is growling. i wonder why.

foodies

A day of culinary delights and surprises.

First thing in the morning, a little jumbled breakfast, of granola peanut butter balls, thereafter Auntie Anne’s cinnamon raisin pretzel.

Of course, there was the Cold Storage trip, where we picked up beef tenderloin, curry powder, unsweetened chocolate, milk, butter, potatoes, carrots, and,… hmmm i cant seem to remember all.

Anyways, the resulting lunch:

Beef Stew with baguette
Chocolate Molten Cake

yup, a rich, satisfying and fulfilling lunch.

Ta ta, for now.

Assignment 1 and Jpops

Thinking on my feet

How do you question the question???

Was rather stumped by this particularly simple question, (yea, i know i’m slow), but, the thing is, I understand the meaning, but i cant seem to phrase the answer.

My answer of a example was so poorly structured, that it didnt sound convincing at all.
I need to brush up on my structure of spoken English.
On that matter, Assignment 2 is due next week.
To write out the questions that come to me, from my chosen question.

I will try to be hardworking and think think think!!!!:)

Jpops: Baby donuts
12 pairs of flavourful donuts, consisting of rather unique tasting donuts filled with cream.

SALTWATER CAFE

The Changi Village Hotel, part of the Far East Hotels, is a hotel with a resort theme. It has a lovely night views, which is reflected by the pool, especially on a starry night. Going to the right of the hotel entrance, you’d be greeted by a unique cosy corner, called the Saltwater Café.

Adding new varieties to its buffet, with the Lok Lok Stall, Changi Crab Corner, TeppanYaki Counter, and Tiffin Curries Station, Saltwater Café is located neatly in the cosy poolside. The masters behind Saltwater Café have again, wowed the crowd with their gourmet delicacies.

First thing you will notice, is the additional table, filled with 3 pots of thick curry, namely chicken, fish, and mutton curry. Your nose would have led you to the Tiffin Curries Station. Take your pick of the flavourful curries, and of course, the pratas. The pratas are fluffy, abit similar to those at your local prata store.

The curry, I must say is really good. It has just the right amount of spiciness in it. It gives a great sweet aftertaste if sugar is added, with the prata.

Next up, you will notice, that there are some pots of boiling water, with skewered fishballs, yong tau hu, raw meat, and other seafood on the trays. Welcome to the good old days of communal steamboat, where everyone cooks together. The joy of this ‘Lok Lok Stall’ is that you get to see your food cooking, which is great for fussy eaters, who like their food hot and fresh.

Now, you’re waiting, and you are still hungry. You smell the fragrant pepper, and the chilli. Turning around, you are greeted by the Changi Crab Corner, filled with fragrant Black Pepper Crab, Chilli Crab, and man tou. Take your pick, but remember, both are equally mouthwatering.

I managed to try the chilli crab, and boy, it’s delicious. The gravy was of the right consistency, and it was superb, together with the fluffy mantou.

Sizzle, sizzle… The chef just poured water on the doumiao, which turns out crunchy and juicy at the same time.

Teppanyaki! A delight for hard core teppan yaki lovers. Perhaps you like your beef sliced, with teppan yaki sauce, and red chillies. Have it your way! The chef make sures that your beef is custom-cooked!!! Feeling hungry already? No problem, enjoy your food, your teppan yaki order is served piping hot to your table.

Still craving for more? Head down to the Saltwater Café, and delight in Singapore gourmet pleasures.
